Marathon: This beautiful mid-Ohio course is extremely flat with an elevation gain of approximately 400 ft on the way out from Sunbury to Centerburg and 60 ft on the way back from Centerburg to Sunbury. The course features newly paved sections of the Ohio to Erie Trail traversing through lovely countryside with much of the course shaded by tree cover.

Note on Trail Crossings: Roads crossed along the Ohio to Erie trail will still be open to traffic and some participants may be told by police/crossing guards to stop and yield to oncoming traffic. If this happens, count your blessings you are being asked to take a breather, not run up a hill! Obviously, participants must obey directions of police/crossing guards.
Participant Safety: Police officers/crossing guards will be featured at all intersections along the Ohio to Erie route. They are there to ensure the safety of everyone (participants and motorists). Traffic will be restricted on Cherry Street and Walnut Street within the City of Sunbury.
Participant Expectations:
a) Please be courteous to the police officers coming out on their day off to make this event a success.
b) The Ohio to Erie trail is a public trail, so be considerate to and don't impede the use of the trail to other users.
c) Absolutely no littering along the course. At each aid station, participants may throw their trash in/near the trash receptacles.
Aid Stations: Course will feature 10-12 aid stations (5-6 each way) to support runners with water, sports drink and 4 of our aid stations will feature gels (while supplies last).
Time Limit for the marathon course is 6 hours 50 minutes. Participants must maintain a pace of at least 15:30 minutes per mile.
