The Sunbury Marathon offers small town charm, a beautiful out-and-back course, an excellent participant experience all at an affordable price. Come experience the hospitality of the Sunbury community and enjoy one of the flattest race courses you can find showcasing lovely mid-Ohio scenery. Marathon, 20 Mile, Half-Marathon, 10K, and 1 Mile Races offered complete with chip-timing, live results, in the heart of a great and welcoming community. Beautiful paved and flat out-and-back course begins in the heart of Sunbury and heads northeast through scenic mid-Ohio countryside to just north of Centerburg. The course is on the city streets of Sunbury and sections of the Ohio to Erie Trail.

Beautifully paved and flat out-and-back course begins in the heart of Sunbury and heads northeast on the Ohio to Erie Trail with the turn-around located near the Licking/Knox County Lines.

Enjoy running or walking a scenic, flat, and fast 10K starting in Sunbury and heading 3 miles Northeast on the Ohio to Erie trail before returning for a thrilling finish!

For those who love speed and competition, there is an option to upgrade to chip-timing for your 1 Mile Race.

The 20 Mile event serves as a perfect final tune-up for your autumn marathon goals. This flat and fast out-and-back course provides the ideal setup for hitting target paces on the scenic Ohio to Erie trail.
