Bib transfer: Can't participate anymore? You can transfer your registration to another participant for $10 until Sept. 5, 2026.

Minors: We are inspired to offer this event as a family-friendly athletic opportunity, encouraging parents and children to participate together. For everyone's safety, minors under the age of 18 may only participate when accompanied by and under the supervision of a parent, guardian, or another designated responsible adult.

Safety and Security: We thank Delaware County EMS, Hartford Township Fire Department, and Central Ohio Joint Fire District for collaborating to provide the emergency services needed to keep everyone safe on race day!

Post race awards and celebration:

The City of Sunbury is hosting a health and fitness themed Farmers Market the morning of Sept. 12 in conjunction with the inaugural Sunbury Marathon. Awards will take place beginning at 10:30 a.m. in the Village Square. There will also be post-race food and recovery for event participants in the Village Square.

Note on Trail Crossings:  Special duty officers (county sheriff) will staff every road crossing along the route to ensure the safety of everyone (participants and road traffic). We thank them for their support!

Inclement Weather Delay / Cancellation:

The start time of events may be delayed up to 2 hours to avoid inclement weather. If the event must be cancelled due to extreme weather, there will be no refunds issued as funds will have already been spent for the event. We strongly suggest purchasing event insurance available at check-out for a reasonable fee.

Spectating the Race:

Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church: Located at mile 4 on the way out and mile 9 for the half marathon, mile 16 for the 20 Mile and mile 22 for the Full Marathon has an access point to the Ohio to Erie trail. Please park in the gravel lot closest to the Ohio to Erie Trail.

Memorial Park in Centerburg: For those spectating the Marathon and 20 Mile events, the village of Centerburg provides a great opportunity to cheer on your family and friends who are crazy enough to run 26+ miles for "fun." Public parking is available at Memorial Park in Centerburg and at various public parking locations in the village.

Newell Recreation Preserve: is another good spectating location located at mile 6 & mile 7 on the half marathon course and mile 6 and mile 20 on the full marathon course, and mile 6 and mile 14 on the 20 Mile course.
